The other cessation methods are quitting cold turkey (painful) and gradually reducing the amount of cigarettes smoked each day (still painful). <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This information is from the CDC and was published in the journal \u201cPreventing Chronic Disease.\u201d \u00a0One of the authors, Dr. Tim McAfee, has been a staunch <\/span><b>opponent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of e-cigarettes and vaping. \u00a0We can only wonder why someone would oppose something that saves lives. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This study looked at almost 16,000 adult smokers over 26 months. The goal was to see which 10 methods worked best. About 75% of those who tried to quit used more than one method. \u00a0Methods used were patches, vaping products, and gum. Despite good results, the authors said vaping should be downplayed as effective. They claimed \u201cnot having enough information on vaping\u201d as their reasoning. \u00a0\u00a0The CDC people didn\u2019t give vaping much credit as a help aid. They prefer pills, gum, and patches that are made by the pharmaceutical industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Millions of people have successfully quite smoking with vaping. Credit is due, and only time will bring the CDC around to look at the actual numbers. The numbers of people who have died from smoking-related illnesses is astounding. It would seem prudent to add vaping to the arsenal of fighting tobacco addiction. \u00a0We\u2019ve seen the ads on television of people who have died of cancer and yet people still smoke. There is a better way to quit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People who swear by vaping enjoy it. They have friends who are now vaping and they don\u2019t have to worry about \u201cstepping outside for a smoke\u201d anymore.
